Fire and Evacuation Plan (Draft)

In case of a fire or smoke emergency, the safety of our employees and customers is the top priority. This plan outlines the actions to take to evacuate the store quickly and safely.

🔔 What to Do If a Fire is Detected

Alert others immediately – If you see fire or smoke, notify nearby employees and activate the nearest fire alarm if available.
Call 911 – Provide the store address, describe the situation, and confirm that evacuation is in progress.
Inform the Store Manager or Supervisor – If safe to do so, notify management right away.

🚪 Evacuation Procedure

Remain calm and stop assisting customers immediately. Inform them of the need to evacuate.
Use the nearest safe exit — do not use elevators or attempt to re-enter the building.
Direct customers calmly toward exit doors and lead them outside if needed.
Do not stop to collect personal belongings or store materials.

👥 Evacuation Roles

Role	Responsibility
Cashiers	Secure register if safe (lock drawer, remove large bills), and assist customers to the exit.
Team Members	Guide customers, check aisles for remaining shoppers or staff.
Manager on Duty	Ensure full building evacuation, grab emergency binder (if accessible), perform headcount outside.
Designated First Aider	Assist any injured person only if it is safe to do so.

📍 Assembly Point

All employees must meet at the [Designated Meeting Spot – e.g., far end of parking lot near the fence or across the street at X location] to confirm attendance.

🔎 Managers must conduct a headcount and report any missing persons to emergency responders immediately.
